These 2-way radios are awesome! They are fairly compact,
work extremely well, & are eveything the seller advertises
them to be. The product arrived very quickly & was packed
well. We would definitely buy from this seller again.

I owned a pair from the leading competitor to midland and even at the same rating for range, could not receive or transmit through heavy urban obstruction from inside a vehicle for more than a mile. This Model was able to do both at 3 miles with the added problem of multiple Ham radio transmitters in line with my signal. In open country, The signal carried for a measured 12 miles, and that, because the radios were not farther apart. for $80. How can you go wrong when considering all the features and the performance.

These radios are great quality and offer a crisper, clearer sound than others I have used. I’ve only had them “in the field” for about 3 weeks, but so far they’ve held up to everything I’ve asked of them. Recommended!

Got these for deer hunting this year & they worked great. Glad that I got them to keep up with my step-son while we were hunting.

I ordered these and received them in two days. Overnight shipping. I have used these every time I go hunting. In the woods, I’d say the reception was pretty good as long as your terrain is flat. Belt clip them to your bibs or pocket and use a headset instead of fumbling for them all the time. Get rid of the headset that comes with them (too bothersome and don’t fit worth a darn). Get the avp4 (surveillance type) and you’re set. Plenty of choices for channels to select and all the other features are a bonus. The animal alert calls are pretty cool too. If you use a headset, remember to run the wire under your shirt and clip your collar. If not, be ready for a tanglesome event. Will be using them every time in the woods.

These radios are the best, very light weight, excellent signal and a very long battery life even in high signal mode. the charger is very compact and efficient and the headsets are very comfortable. And the price is great.

These radio’s work very well after you get over the fact that no portable radio will work long range in an urban setting. The advertised 37 mile range is not realistic in most settings. No portable radio will work over about a mile unless there is an unobstructed line of sight to the other party such as over water (or maybe mountain top to mountain top). These are 5 Watt radios. The FCC limits the power output on GMRS Radios to 5 Watts maximum. Some brands are not even 5 watts, however these are.
I use these radio’s at our hunting camp in Central Georgia. In the thick forest, the maximum range is about a mile. As indicated above,I have used all major brands with Midland the best and Motorola coming in second.
What I like:
Maximum Range
Camo finish
Push to Talk (PTT) works very well, the switch is solidly built
The included headsets work well but are somewhat uncomfortable to wear
More features that you will ever need
The Value Pack with included accessories is a great value and better value than any other radio on the market.
Waterproof, ok to use in the rain
The Amazon price is a real bargain for the radios and all the accessories that are included.
3 Year Warranty (as far as I now the others are only guaranteed a year)
The rechargeable batteries last a long time.
What I don’t like:
The unit is somewhat bulky and slightly larger that most radios on the market. However they still fit in your shirt pocket or on your belt with the included belt clip.
Summary:
If you want GMRS radios and accessories that work well at a bargain price, this is the one to buy.

I use these radios for hunting in dense hilly pine plantations. The radios are feature rich and you get a lot of radio for the cost. I am also a ham radio operator and my handheld ham radios cost 3x as much for one radio. I don’t know how they can offer them for so little. The battery life is very good, the tx/rx audio quality is excellent, they come w/ metal hydride batteries and drop in charger, and they even have vibrate call.
The usable range is always a question w/ handheld radios. These are UHF radios w/ tiny antennas and they aren’t going to replace a ham radio base station w/ a 15′ antenna, repeater, or cell tower. It has also been said that pine needles resonate around 440mHz which also antennuates the signal. We find the usable range to be about 1/2 mile to 1 mile in the woods. We are rarely any further apart than that so they are very handy. Your mileage may vary.
The one thing I don’t like about these radios is they are darn hard to find if you drop it. We’ve lost 2 so far.

I bought these radios based on many good reviews and have found them to be quite nice. The max range is listed as 36 miles, for a flat area LOS communication. I have had good luck with them at the 13 mile range. My GF was inside the house holding a radio and I went to a hill on our country property about 13 miles away with many hills in between and we were able to communicate fine. NEAT! I did let them charge for the full 24 hour period that the manual called for and obtained an $85 FCC license to use the high-power channels to be legal.

These are great radios. I got them for backpacking, skiing, airsoft and 4×4 trail runs. The sound is good. They sound as good as my friends 2 meter radios. The distance you get out of them obviously depends alot on the terrain. Don’t expect more than a few miles in heavily wooded areas, deep canyons, or city driving. Out in the desert you get miles of range though. The only problem I have had with them is that the battery life indicator is junk with the rechargable batteries that come with it. The meter will show full for most of the time, then suddenly drop a few bars and be dead within 30 mins. No real consistency on showing the actual charge rate of the battery. Despite the battery issue, I’ve owned several different FRS/GMRS radios, and think these are the best.
